Art with a Heart - Charity Fundraiser

This year has been an exceptionally difficult and strenuous time. Unfortunately those who are already very disenfranchised and in at risk situations have only had times made harder, particularly, women.

“For countless women in economies of every size, along with losing income, unpaid care and domestic work burden has exploded.

While everyone is facing unprecedented challenges, women are bearing the brunt of the economic and social fallout of COVID-19.

Women who are poor and marginalized face an even higher risk of COVID-19 transmission and fatalities, loss of livelihood, and increased violence. Globally, 70 per cent of health workers and first responders are women, and yet, they are not at par with their male counterparts. At 28 per cent, the gender pay gap in the health sector is higher than the overall gender pay gap (16 per cent).”

Now more than ever is a time to reach out and help those in need. And so, Andrew’s decided to sell Yellow House Tulips, 2020, Acrylic on Canvas, 24” x 24” at $2500, with 100% of the sale going to a very worthy cause— My Sisters’ Place.

My Sisters’ Place (MSP) is a safe, welcoming and inclusive centre that supports women through drop-in and wrap-around services. Many experience multiple vulnerabilities including gender based violence, trauma, chronic mental and physical health challenges, homelessness or housing instability, substance use, and extreme poverty.
